Grade 1 Success Story:

Meet one of our Grade 1 students who joined us during the challenging times of the pandemic. Despite facing initial hurdles such as low sitting tolerance, short attention span, and behavioural meltdowns, this resilient student exhibited strong communication skills. However, clinical assessment revealed underlying challenges of ASD with ADHD traits. What followed was a remarkable display of collaborative efforts between our Inclusion Team, teachers, therapists, and parents. Together, we developed tailored strategies and interventions to support the student's unique needs. Although progress was initially minimal, a mutual decision was made for intensive therapy during a term break.

The results were truly remarkable. Upon returning to school, the student showed significant improvement in school readiness skills, behaviour, and academic engagement. Today, the student attends Grade 1 without the need for an Individual Assistant, demonstrating continued progress and independence.

Grade 5 Success Story:

Another inspiring tale comes from a Grade 5 student who joined us in the midst of the pandemic with concerns ranging from inattention to learning difficulties. Through collaborative efforts involving parents, teachers, and our inclusion team, we witnessed a transformation in the student's academic performance, attendance, and punctuality. With the support of external specialists and dedicated sessions with our inclusion teacher, the student's reading, writing, and spelling skills improved significantly, nearing grade-level standards. While challenges remain in certain areas such as maths, the student continues to make strides forward with ongoing support and encouragement.
