The Inspirational Journey of a Student Who Never Gave Up- By Ms Carol Chitale (English Teacher)

Thomas Edison’s famous quote, “Success is the result of hard work” rings particularly true to Kifah Dalvi. The road to learning is paved with challenges and triumphs, and each student's experience is distinct. Kifah's journey embodies this growth mindset. Witnessing her transformation into a dedicated and successful student over the past four years has been one of the highlights of my teaching experience.

To support Kifah's individual needs, we implemented strategies such as differentiated instruction, small group projects, and peer tutoring. These strategies aimed to build her confidence in answering questions, and solidifying her understanding of key concepts in the story, in addition, polishing her grammar skills with a more playful approach led to her positive outcome of improved grammar topics.

It was impressive to see her contributions to class discussions and the bond she developed with her classmates enhanced the classroom atmosphere. Her classroom inputs propelled her to outstanding success which is a true reflection of her potential and abilities. Considering her enthusiasm for taking on challenges and volunteering to read aloud, it’s clear she is confident and demonstrated her courage and commitment to learning. Moreover, she has a vibrant imagination and a knack for crafting engaging presentations that captivated her classmates including me.

Kifah's preference for visual learning was evident in her love for mind maps. These mind maps served as a powerful tool for her to understand the sequence of events and the characteristics of the characters in stories. She has been tenacious and highlights her ability to hold onto a goal despite challenges. No doubt she is a creative child and would always find innovative solutions and productively utilize the available resources.

To sum up, Kifah’s success is a symbol of promise and possibilities for students facing academic challenges. Her learning success shows that with the right support, resources and mindset anyone can overcome obstacles and achieve their goals. We celebrate Kifah Dalvi’s remarkable achievement and her refusal to give up in the face of challenges.
